A phenomenal windows mobile has been recognized by ASUS. This is claimed as the first fastest PDA in the cell phones market because it comes with high speed. Not only that, there are some high features which are provided.
Blackberry and Apple popularity in our country, have become a challenge for Windows mobile to improve their PDAs. This challenge is answered by ASUS P565. Different with Blackberry which have complicated mechanism under vendor authorization, Windows mobile come with many choices and supported by high acceleration.
Design
Asus P565 is made in normal PDA size, with a candybar model, short and tight body. Almost as tinny as HTC Touch, but not as big as Blackberry. It means, it’s still comfortable enough for Asian hands. The material is from glossy plastic with a silver lis, the battery covered by leather, it would remaind us to Blackberry Bold. The material is light in weight and thin so it wouldn’t difficult for us to put it in the pocket.
Just like the other PocketPC, this cell phone use touch screen as main media interaction. But ASUS still provide some buttons such as Luncher, OK button, d-pad, call, volume, power and mute switch.
Interface
ASUS work with 6,1 professional Windows Mobile operating system. All the appearances similar with the previous product which have the same operating system. ASUS also give a special vendor interface called Glide interface that make possible to the screen for reading the finger touch. Screen is the first positive point for P565. come with TFT 65.536 colours with 640 x 480 pixel resolution would make the appearance softer and sharper, different with Blackberry which use VGA resolution or only a half from P565. But if we if we change to Anytime Launcher or Glide theme features, the appearance would not soft anymore. It’s because both still use 320 x 240 pixel resolution, so maybe in the future, the developer could improve this side.
Processor and memory
Just like have been said before, this gadget is completed by high speed processor type Marvel PXA930 with 800 MHz clock speed. As a comparation, HTC Touch Pro which has the same screen resolution only has 528 MHz clock speed. Blackberry which known as the fastest product only has 624 MHz clockspeed processor.
Realizing that only some applications which need maximum speed, P565 offering speed choices for the users. We could choose the speed as we want related to our needs, slow, fast or middle speed. To support the performance, P565 also bring external memory such 256 MB Flash ROM and 128 MB DDR SDRAM.
High features
Another plus point from P565 is the compatibility with many kind files which are integrated with operating computer system. We could find it in the mobile office which could executing Microsoft document files such words, excel, and power point.
HSDPA, WIFI, and Internet
This ASUS premium product is also completed with high network technology. There is HSDPA for accessing high speed data up to 3, 6 mbps. It’s also completed with WIFI for connecting with network without operator service. Both using the newest standart business cell phones.
About browser, P565 providing Microsoft Internet Explorer Pocket from the operating system. It could work properly, although with limited flash appearance. ASUS is also provide RSS feeder so, we could always be connected with internet forums.
Email, and Text message
Email and Text message are very important for a business cell phone. Most people said that Blackberry is the leader here, whereas Microsoft has the same service but more corporate, even one level higher than Blackbery BES. It means PocketPC users could enjoy Pushmail without addition application. Some information told that the local operators would give Outlook pushmail privately by subscribe to the operators. Just wait and see. If this truly happen, we don’t need to change to Blackberry don’t we ?
Multimedia
Basicly, P565 didn’t make for entertaintment needs. But entertainmet features are still provided. Beside windows media player mobile, Asus also give other main multimedia features in P565. There is EZImusic, which more dynamic and flat, appear in a big icon and fonts. It would make us easy for accessing the feature without stylus.
Speaker is positioned in the back side, but there’s no multimedia port. All jacks entrance in one hole beside music player, P565 is also completed with 3 megapixel camera, autofocus without flash and could produce standart pictures inside or outside.
Battery
P565 use 1300mAh lithium ion battery. It’s save enough although the battery power is up. The problem, this battery is not as good as lithium polimer. But over all, it could still fulfill the power supply. No less, no more.
